Signs was great. I loved the way all the small, odd pieces came together in the end, showing that nothing happens by coincidence.
The Sixth Sense was also good. I had no idea that the Dr. was dead until the reveal at the end.
Unbreakable was okay. The part about Bruce Willis' character being a superhero was good, but his evil nemesis was a bit too much to take. If the guy was so fragile, how did he pull off all of those huge disasters without getting hurt himself?
The Village was also okay. I think it wasn't much of a surprise to learn that they were living in some sheltered environment during modern times.
I guess I'd have to agree with you that Signs was his best work so far. It was incredibly clever.

Hello!
Me too, and my wife too, are fans of Mr. Shyamalan. We cannot wait to see his next movie, and the other, and so on...
Our favorites is "The Sixth Sense" simply because the ending is somehow unexpected. Also, it's a movie very good TWO times. The second times you can watch it again but now since you know where it's going, it's interressant to see how they arrange things to be beleivable both ways... It's really interesting to see actors playing the same scenes but to be viewable in both ways. For example the wife of Bruce Willis' character at the table for the anniversery. The guy arrive at table late. They way she acts is really nice. She plays the scene like he is there and being mad at him because he is late. Then, knowing it is not there and a phantom, she acts also being mad at him for having let her alone in the world. That's why we like that movie most than the others. But others are good too. Sign is nice to watch also.
And it's always a kind of happening to try to see where he will appear inside the movie.
Unbreakable is maybe the less good one.

The Sixth Sense and The Village. Because for both films I had a completely different idea on what the film was really about. The endings spun me out.
