she got knocked up by some ugly
dumbass and well next thing u know she got a baby in her lap
but before the whole stupid slut thing she was okay
so go for it
(just dont get knocked up by an ugly guy)

I think that if you want to be a singer, you should give it a go. Don't think twice, you might realise that that is really what you wanted to do when it's too late.
It depends on what kind of music genre really. It's not the music that makes it 'not good' it's the people involved in it.
Lat bit of advice: Make sure you're performing for all of the right reasons.
