When I say '80's, what's the first thing you think of?

I remember them all equally so I'll list them. They all suck except for #8:

1. "Big" and crimped hair.

2. Preppy clothes (alligator shirts, narrow ties, etc.).

3. Empty pop music (MindlessTV, 3 minute movies with lousy soundtracks, etc.).

4. UHF and cable TV. There are barely enough good shows for 13 channels, and let alone 200.

5. Stephen Cannell TV shows. They sucked then (Magnum PI, A-Team, etc.) and they suck now (JAG, Navy NCIS).

6. On field advertising in sports. Remember when the football sidelines were empty, a baseball diamond's outfield wall was blank, and hockey's ice and boards were white so you could see the puck? And the uniforms didn't have any corporate logos?

7. Product tie-ins. Remember when a kids' movie didn't have a fast food promotion, no toys, and no t-shirts? Or when Bugs Bunny didn't sell anything?

8. Aerobic and weightlifting girls in thong leotards. (Where have they gone to? Come back....)

Riding my little Honda 80 motorcycle and horses around our property because we moved from the city and up to the sticks with trails all over in the 'Tahoe National Forest. Pretty, though lonely at times...my horse wouldn't talk back to me! Funny...

in the 80s i was a huge Smiths fan, and because i thought i was morrissey (yeh, i know) i had a really stupidly huge psycho-billy quiff haircut. my nickname at school was "Bert " from Sesame street. my nickname at home was " christ, son, what have you come as?"
for that reason i also remember not being able to find a single person who would agree to have sex with me in the 80s (except for my latin teacher but i dont want to talk about him)

Richard Simmons in his short little shorts with his afro. I was very young in the 80's, but I remember surfing through the channels and seeing one of his many infomercials for, "Sweating to the Oldies"...now THAT was scary.

yuch i hate 80s the only thing l like tht i wasnt born in 80s and everything used to sucks in 80s 4rm rock to madonna..everything wass ewww ugly ppl used to wear wiered clothes and the music was also horrifying..the singers used to yell much rather than singing and horrifying reverb effect was more awefull in the songs
