Hi, I own a general auto repair shop with 6 bays in NJ. You don't specify new or used parts. I have had very good luck finding hard to locate or obsolete parts on the Internet. As far as BMW parts, I would start by looking for BMW clubs in the Yahoo search engine. Most Club websites have a page with links to parts and accessories sites.
More generally, I would look in Ebay, after that I'll usually put out a search on www.junkyarddog.com That site is a network of recycling yards through out the Midwest and west coast. You give them your contact information and which parts you are looking for. You will receive email from any yards that have your parts. It really works very well. I have used it to find both body parts and mechanical parts. I hope that helps.
