What is a Bas light? Did you mean Gas light? add to your detail box with additional info.

A assume you meant "ABS"...it means the anti-lock brake system has a fault and needs to be inspected.
Normal braking isn't affected by ABS faults, but the ABS system may not work when you need it while the light is on.
Most common problems are wheel speed sensors that get cruddy or damaged and aren't sending a correct signal to the system....

could you mean a.b.s. light? [anti-lock brake system] Mercedes system is made by Bosch, very reliable, probably a front wheel sensor.
