It sounds like you might be worried about your job. It wouldn't hurt to go hunting for a new job on the side..considering your employer might be in some financial trouble. It's better to get out when the getting is good, so to speak.

He doesn't want to speak with them because they will hound him for payments he most likely doesn't have the cash to make. I don't see much a moral dilemma in telling them he isn't available to speak. He is your boss after all. But I'd start looking for another job soon because calling creditors is NEVER a good sign when it comes to a business' financial future.

Seriously look into finding a job elsewhere. The fact that there are money issues is scary enough, but that added to how he handles those issues is a recipe for disaster. Do it as professionally as possible. Give the requisite two weeks notice, but get off of that sinking ship.
