Billions of years ago Jupiter and the Sun had a small gravitational war that the Sun easily won. The remaining heavier matter that was in the middle settled down and formed planetoids. The lighter gases that were outside Jupiters orbit form Gas Giants . Earth was one of these planetoids. It's why outside Jupiters' orbit it's all big gas planets and inside it's orbit you will find smaller rock based planets.

My own guess is that there we two stars in this system and one(jupiter) got too close to the other was partially destoyed sending it's gases very far away and letting out it's heavier elements closer to the impact point(Sun)

I just have a comment about the answer given by "dark" you have no clue what you are talking about! the big bang is a theory of how the universe was created(and time for that matter too) not how the planets formed! there where NO rocks at the time of the big bang... for the first moments there was only a uniform super high energy and super dence plasma state... the planets did not form for many billions of years after this... OK please its important to know the difference between the solar system and the universe. It is also very crucial for you to know that the big bang did not start with some big rock hanging out in space ready to blow up.... it happened everywhere! the big bang was the creation of space, time and energy everywhere all at once... the reason for this confusion is becuase big bang theorists talk about all the matter in the world being condenced to a small piont... the lose in understanding come when people visualize this piont as being in "space" but space itself was also collapsed in this piont too. the best way to think about this, (and its really fun) Image your flouting in space, and you reach out and your hand touches your own back!! the space is so small that you can accually reach out forward and touch your backside... this is a good way to picture what it would be like for the entire universe to be condenced into a small space... even more bizzare the current theory has all the matter starting at a timeless spaceless state known as a singularity... energy is infinate, time is stoped, all space is zero in size and is infinately looped around itself... this obviously hints at some error in the logic, but our current understanding brings us to this interesting state, and is very fun to imagine. Perhaps some new physics will alow us to circumvent the singularity, or perhaps this state is real, alothough our understanding of it is lacking.

I just can't buy this big bang theory. Maybe that's how the earth was made. Just the planet itself. But that's reaching a little. It had to be "made" by an intelligent being. I mean how else could everything work so well together to sustain the life that is here. It just couldn't have been made by chance as scientists say if they are including the life that is here. That would be like saying you could put a monkey in a room with a typewritter with some paper and he will eventually write a great novel. So I think god is to blame for us BOOM! lol

That's funny---"Big Bang Theory" Where did this energy come from to produce the sun and planets? And there must have been a whole lot of "banging" going on to produce all of these solar systems. How can energy come from nothing? That's the first question that needs to be answered. It's like a spark plug producing it's own enegry to spark---yeah right. Theories are guesses. God didn't give us enough smarts to firgure that one out so we make up our own story.
"In the beginning...God created Heaven and Earth."
That's good enough for me.

My personal opinion is that the power God caused the big bang to be. After that it was a physical chain reaction , which is still continuing , and will continue for who knows how long still , on and in mother earth and the universe.
According to the bible , there is first the physical, thereafter the spiritual was created, for the benefit of our souls, which are spirit, just like God , his Son, and the Holy Spirit.

In fact, all creation was created by God.... Even scientists cannot explain how the Big Bang actually started... Who put the first molecule or big ball there to have it Banged anyway?

And furthermore, planet Eart was destined to be a place of creation and to enjoy as a paradise.... Angels were offered to come as human beings so they could share the goodness of God in a dimension where you could as well FEEL in a physical manner(which angel cannot do) and that was called 3rd dimension... So actually planet Earth is a CREATION... and WE are as well CREATIONS... So it is forbidden to destroy one and other... and it is permitted to be HAPPY and to have children(which angels cannot do either...)...
Hope you will find the truth for yourself ...... Good luck...

The answer is very simple. Due to the so called BIG BANG dust particles were ejected. Many of these particles came close to each other and finally stuck together to form a small ball.
Still more particles kept depositing on it and thus a big ball of particles was formed .This ball was named earth .

Earth was always here but it wasn't organized. It was matter. Remember the history of the dynasours, etc. before man was put on the earth. Who organized it was Jesus Christ and Michael the Arch Angel under Father's direction. This is all true.

According to Bertrand Russell's "The ABC's of Relativity", the earth was created because "Big swirls have little swirls that feed on their velocity and little swirls have lesser swirls and so on to viscosity".

As the earth formed from space dust, the swirls of dust coalesced into a solid form which became the physical earty.

by the big bang explosion the stars came into existence
in that time small molecular particles like earth came into existence
