Question: Can you be pregnant and still get your period?

Answer: Well, no, you can't get your period once you're pregnant — once your body starts producing the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and your pregnancy is established, your menstrual cycle is interrupted and normal periods will stop — but you may have bleeding or spotting during pregnancy that can seem like a period.

Some pregnant women have what's called "implantation bleeding" that can happen around the time their period is due, and they may mistake that bleeding for a period. This spotting may be caused by the fertilized egg burrowing into the blood-rich lining of the uterus (a process that starts just 6 days after fertilization) and it's generally a lot lighter than a typical period — just a day or two of very light spotting.

If you're pregnant and you're not sure when your last period started, this can make establishing a due date difficult for your healthcare provider. If you have any doubts, your practitioner can feel how big your uterus is with a pelvic examination and estimate how far along you are. In most cases, your provider will also order an ultrasound before midpregnancy to measure the size of your developing baby to clarify exactly when the baby is due.

Many women who bleed a little bit in early pregnancy go on to deliver without any complications, but bleeding can also be a cause for concern. It may be the first sign of a miscarriage; if so, your symptoms will probably go on to include heavy cramping and bleeding much heavier than a normal period. If you have sharp pains in your lower abdomen, especially if the pain is only on one side, you should see your practitioner right way to find out if you may have an ectopic pregnancy (also known as a tubal pregnancy). Because of these potential complications, if you bleed at all early in your pregnancy, it's best to notify your doctor or midwife to get specific instructions. She may suggest getting a blood test to check your hCG levels or order an ultrasound to evaluate your condition more thoroughly.

Initially I would have said I highly doubt it, but the other answers on here make me not so sure any more!

I would say it's probably not that normal - apart from that implantation thing, menstruation and pregancy should be mutually exclusive, as the period is a regular flushing-out of unused uterine lining ... the thing that the baby attaches to... so if you have all that come out, baby's coming too!

If you're at all worried about it get down to the antenatal clinic and ask a qualified health professional to check you over. Don't be worried about looking silly in front of them, it's what they're paid to do and encounter all the time, and the best outcome for all involved is when everything comes up clear.

If you can be pregnant or if you have infertility problems I reccomend to follow this method http://pregnancy.toptips.org

Many factors can cause a couple trouble in conceiving a baby, I'll list a few of the most common ones in women:
Anorexia or other dietary dysfunctions
Lacking amounts of FSH and LH are produced, so ovaries aren't as functional as they could be, and so not many eggs are produced
Stress, causing periods to become irregular
Medications such as cancer treatments, antidepressants, hormone therapy, pain killers, and antipsychotic drugs can all cause temporary infertility.

With the method that I posted above you will be able to get pregnant!

I've heard that you can still have a period whilst pregnant, but it's incredibly rare - I believe it's when women sometimes have a double uterus. You cannot get pregnant again while pregnant though as the hormones prevent an egg being released (ovulation).

i have a friend who didnt know she was 6 months pregnant coz she was still having normal periods, but they only found out coz she was having pains & they did a scan. she now has a healthy 1 year old baby.
So in some cases it can happen but usually most women don't have periods when pregnant.

You always hear of people having periods while pregnant. How else would some women give birth without knowing they were pregnant? If you are worried about it though and you are pregnant, go and see your doctor. If the bleeding is bright red and heavy, go to the hospital as it could be a sign of miscarriage.

Now everyone can cure infertility using this natural remedy http://pregnancyhelps.info
infertility can run in the family and one of the first things the doctor asks you when you go to a fertility clinic is your family history regarding cases of infertility or other reproductive issues.
If infertility is caused by genetic disorder then it's not unusual that one of the kids (your mom) doesn't have it and another does (your aunt).
two months of trying is still to early to be concerned about the fact that you might be infertile and it's also quite early to go to a fertility specialist. Go to a regular Obgyb to get a closer insight and see what ways there are are to improve your fertility rate.
Also remove alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes from your life because they might influence your chances too. Stress is also a risk factor when it comes to infertility.
