I think Germany will win because:
1. They're the hosts.
2. Brazil have never successfully defended their title in Europe (their last attempt ended 3-0 in Stade de France)
3. Brazil didn't make it past the group stages in 1966 an 1986 - could 2006 continue the 6th year omen???
4. Germany have a knack of defeating England in penalty shootouts (or England have a knack of losing them - WC 1990, Euro 96, WC 1998, Euro 2004).
5. Germany will be hungry after losing the 2002 final.
6. Ballack will have to exorcise the demon of being suspended for that game despite getting the Germans there with goals against the US and South Korea. There's only one way to do that.
