A friend of mine bought some videos off the T.V. with credit card...the kind of thing where they get you card # and just keep sending you stuff and taking your money. He also couldn't get ahold of them to cancel and the only way he stopped it was by contacting his credit card company and they had to assign him a new credit number. So, call your credit company and explain. Good Luck!

First Point of Call..... Contact your credit card supplier!

Such a transaction comes under 'Distance Selling' law, under which you are usually, I believe, entitled to a 'Cooling Off Period' ... during which you have the chance to change your mind!.... Ask your credit card customer service about this!

If goods are supplied, that you have not requested, then contact the company and ask for them to arrange collection (I think within 21 days is the norm)..... I'm a bit fuzzy on this bit of law (Your local Consumer Protection office may be able to help more)..... basically, the way it works, is that if after contact they have not arranged collection after a perios of time (this is the bit I'm not sure of) the goods should become yours, and you should still be entitled to your money back!.... Check this out!

Incidentally, Skyp software is available for free dowload on their Website...

http://www.skype.com

Or, see if you can get the software off the cover of a magazine, or other free-download site!

IOne last point, If the download site is charging for downloading 'free software' then they are probaly breaking the law anyhow, and should be reported!!!

Good Luck!

Contact your credit card company and contest the charge. Tell them you did not authorize that purchase. Normally they will reverse the charge.

In the future, never put your credit card number in unless you intend to make a purchase. Also, read ALL of the terms of service before purchasing anything on line.
