In order for you to become a medical doctor of any kind, you must attend medical school after you graduate from university.

In order to qualify for application to medical school, there are a number of courses you must take while at university.

Every reputable university has what are called "pre-medical" or "pre-health professions" advisors, who will help you take all the necessary courses to qualify for medical school admissions.

These courses always include at least one year of biology, two years of chemistry (which must include organic chemistry), and one year of physics. Many medical schools also require one year of calculus.

While many medical school aspirants major in one of the natural sciences, there is no specific major that is required, or that is "best" to pursue. Medical schools are looking for well-educated and well-rounded individuals. I have advised students who majored in comparative religion, French, and art history (among other things) and who have been admitted to medical schools. But of course, they all took the required courses in bio, chem, and physics as well.

Best wishes to you!
