Ice cream is a wonderful source of calcium, so I'd say as long as you're not eating a half gallon every time you sit down to eat some, you should be fine. I think 1/2 cup is a standard serving, so if you're eating 1/2 cup a day, I don't see that it would hurt you. Just watch the amount of sugar you're eating.

Heck yes, I ate Breyer's chocolate ice cream and finished the whole tub in like 2 days. But then, I did gain like, a gazillion pounds. Or, more to the point, 40.

If in very very small portions, sure.. but if you're having 5 cups or so it's probably more fat and more sugar than what's healthy for you. You're more likely to develop diabetes during pregnancy than you usually are and it's a difficult time to abstain from eating so many unhealthy foods since you're more hungry than you may have ever been before, but it's not a good idea to indulge in every craving. Try eating fruits and yogurts as sweet, nutritious substitutes. :)

yep - ice cream is fine so long as it is sterile (most shop bought brands are)

only have small portions as you don't really taste it as much after the first few mouthfuls and it is rather a high calorie food

i dont see why not just remember ice cream is fattning
