Just recently when I right click to save a picture off the internet, it automatically saves it has a .bmp, even if the picture is a .jpeg or .gif. Does anybody know why it's doing this and how do I fix it?

It won't let me pick another way to save it. I thought that was obvious but I guess not.

It's known bug of IE, just clean cache of your browser, Tools >> Internet Options >> General >> in 'Temporary Internet files' click 'Delete Files...' button

In the menu of your browser, choose tools > internet options > advanced customization and from the list of options, go to pictures (they have tons of options for display) and select the format of their saving.
On the other hand, as you right click a picture and want to save it, under the name box you have the format box, and there you can save it as a jpeg.
Or, another thing you could do (tested!) is to save the complete web page, then go to the source folder of the internet page, and there you find the picture, and it is most of the times the expected .jpeg.

click on file
then click on save as
and choose your extension type instead of bmp to jpg or anything u want to save

when you right click it and click save as there should be a tab on the bottom change it to .jpg

you have a problem whit your explorer program. check it out. also you can change their format to any type which you like whit ACD See or Photoshop by saving as ...
