i have had 2 games crash on me"ballistics" and "x111" both of which are from game download sites
i have tried boxed original games like toca, dead mans hand, ect and they work fine,so is it just a bug in the downloaded games ,as it cant be my graphic card ,can it? as 99% of games i play are fine
i used dxdiag and tested direct x interfaces and all tests were succsesfull
can anyone tell me of such a graphic card diagnostic tool(but not 3d mark)as my card(radeon 9550)is not the best card ,but it does for the amount of gaming i do
cheers

If ballistics and x111 are freeware games you have to consider the fact that there is probably only a small team of programmers working on them so it's only natural that some bugs will slip by

suppose so... instead of from a download site i would buy em and its much better you can return them.... but you can download em from torrents if you wish or P2P file sharing (limewire, kazaa(not good), bearshare) you should just buy em from a store.
plus when your gonna play a game restart your computer so it will refresh your memory and your computer will run faster and shut down unnesscary stuff like instant messengers.... i have a radeon 9250 and i used to play doom 3 on medium graphics and the game went super smooth even though its not a heavy gamers card i was just looking one tat was cheap... next take some classes (free classes) at cnet.com there great they teach you many things if your gonna game, they even showed me how to mod my own PC.

The minimum requirements for X111 are pretty low

As you say, your card is not the best, but it should be fine for all but the most demanding games.

I suggest updating the card drivers.

no proper ventilation in cabinet
