Try using SSS(Skin-So-Soft) Bath Oil by Avon to get sticky label residue off a plastic surface. You rub it on with your finger or something soft then wash the plastic with soap and water! This has always worked for me and doesn't scratch, stain nor leave a bad smell on the plastic!

Try putting baby oil on it and letting it soak for a few minutes. Wash the area well and the residue should come right off. If baby oil is too greasy for you, try soaking the spot in dishwashing liquid and scrubbing with a plastic scrubber for nonstick cookware.

Try Goo Gone-it's fantastic. It comes in an 8 fl oz bottle and is yellow-orangish (smells citrusy). You will generally find it in the laundry section of the grocery. In my area I buy it for around $2 (US). I've used it many times with success!
