What a good question. I believe that the Internet is basically good insofar as it improves communications between people all over the planet. It has the potential to enrich and improve lives, but just like in the real world, there are a lot of people who operate on the dark side and engage in base and awful things. One major problem is the internet can be reached and used in private behind closed doors and therefore the really awful stuff comes out.

What you do in private defines your inner character, and I am afraid that lots of people in the world today have characters that are dark. But all-in-all, I still feel that the benefits outweight the negatives.

Again... good question.

The internet helps to join the whole world together, so this is good. I think that it will help world peace because there will be fewer differences among people all over the world. My one fear is that we will hardly ever see other people in the future. Others will be represented by 3 dimensional virtual reality projections, and with little human contact, the world will be a cold place to live in. Though I suppose that humans will adapt to this, knowing to find warmth in ways other than the human contact we are used to now.

Everything has its own pros and cons but it's upto people how they view things. Internet is also one such tool. if you use it for good then it's good for u but people often fall prey to the "evils" of intenet, like porn stuff etc. & sometimes people waste a lot of time here too.I don't think anyone can clearly judge whether it's dark side outweighs the good

Overall, it's better, prior to the web people had to go to a library or purchase expense encylpedias to access info, processing application forms, police records checks, pingerprint checks took days weeks or months, now it takes seconds to do the same tasks, and a lot less effort. Info is updated daily on the web, so you're not reading something that's a year old,, like you would if you had to use a text book.

Definitely the dark side prevails. Look at Yahoo! Answers for dogsake. Kentucky male 27 is putting out tons of hate, and so is KKK.

Is this the best humans can do? If I see one more photo of Zaqarwi's corpse, I'll puke.

It definitely is better off because it allows poor people the access of information. I think the dark side of it will only affect those who have the luxury of sitting down and obliging to it.

I think it's good sides are pretty good. It all depends on how you control it and how you use it. - We wouldn't have Yahoo answers without the internet. Nooooooooooooo
