green day is not punk. i didn't follow punk besides what was around 25 to 35 years ago. it's as you say, punk is dead, or at the very least it's over 36.

Music styles don't die they change. Just look at Heavy Metal they keep saying its dead but it just keeps going. Punk was well liked someone well come along and redo some of it and it well be off and running. I've been around a long time and have seen it happen over and over.

I dident realise that people still beleived that real punk was alive.

I know that there seems to be a whole 'punk-pop' style of clothing going on. I see it everywhere. They take some trendy clothing, slap some buttons on it, add some saftey pins,pink plaid,fraid edges and some minor tears and call it 'punk'.
