My fiance is very proud of my virginity and so am I. Whether or not other people have sex before they are married is not my personal business (let's please not discuss that), but I really wish then that they would at least do me a favor and not ruin the traditional meaning of the white wedding dress. It's like wearing a gold metal when you have not won first place.

God looks at both the heart/soul and body. He loves you know matter what, and will offer forgiveness when you repent, but that doesn't mean that people should ignore the "body" part for their own convenience. You can't just pick and choose which commandments you want to follow. Yes, we're all sinners but that doesn't mean we should DEFEND our sins.

And saving myself for my husband isn't a big accomplishment, I'm only doing what I'm supposed to do and what the majority of Americans used to do and what the majority of people in several countries still do. Just don't have sex before the wedding...it's that simple. It takes no effort NOT to do something. Any hormonal urges can be taken care of by fantasizing.

I need to remind myself that not everyone couldn't wait because they're lecherous and irresponsible people, I think a lot of people did it because of social pressure or missing a father figure, so they try to fill in the gap with with physical closeness as in illusion of emotional closeness. Coming from a nuclear family and being the kind of person who doesn't easily give into social pressure it's easy for me to forget that. While it's still a sin, I should at least be more understanding as to where someone's heart is when they do something.

Your traditions are what you make them. They apply to you alone. Make the most of your wedding and marriage. Nobody can ruin that for you. Forget what everyone else does. Don't give their traditions a second thought. Save your energies for your husband.
And a big CONGRATS for saving yourself for your husband. It's bold to be different.
Have a great life.

If you're THAT worried about how other people's, (meaning people that you don't even KNOW), actions affect you, perhaps you're not quite mature enough to handle the rigors of marriage.
By all means, be proud that you saved yourself for marriage. But don't worry so much about what you think other people are doing. You were right...it's none of your business so don't even bother with it.
And as for the "traditional meaning of the white dress", it was a fashion statement by a 19th century queen. What's the big deal? If you feel that you need to advertise your untouched status, wear a giant sign around your neck during the ceremony. Mission will be accomplished.

You are allowed to wear a white wedding dress, virgin or not, as long as you are pure of heart. God doesn't look at the body, he looks at the heart and soul.

Sorry I had to speak.....If someone wearing white can ruin your tradition then you have issues. What others do is on them and their choice period. Who are you to judge them and what they choose to wear on their special day. If someone wants to get marred @$$ out and t hat is special to them go for it. But just because you are a virgin and getting married doesn't make you better than anyone else.

i know what you mean. As for your wedding dress, why not just keep it simple? i've just been to my cousin's wedding recently, and in the reception, his wife had a hard time getting around because of the long train. xD;;;
