We all have genetic differences. As difficult as this may be I have no doubt that if a person does not 'want' to be attracted to their own gender then with great care and persistance they can learn to control their thoughts. 'Thinking' is where it all starts.
If we harbour a thought that is evil (for example) we are in great danger of acting on that thought. Something such as cheating on our mate, first starts with our thoughts. We can overcome things with help, support and effort - if this is what we really want.

I think true homosexuals have a primary attraction for the same sex, and some is said to be genetic. It makes sense as the X or Y chromosome may carry extra genetic information.
I believe there are also people are caught between due to some life experience, or change, go from one to another.I would call that situational.
I don't think you will have anymore success in therapy with true homosexuals than you would changing a heterosexual or pedophile.
Entitled to therapy? I don't believe therapy helps someone crossover that is truly one, anymore than I believe you can change a fixated pedophile. There is the crux, there are situational pedophiles and some in between that therapy can help. Bit not one who's sexual orientation is to children.
I am not putting homosexuals in the league of pedophiles. I only used it as an example. Pedophilia is a crime if you act on your impulse! That is why almost all pedophiles will re-offend and re-offend and re-offend!!!

Well I'm sure it's possible for someone to change, it just might be a little awkward.
However, homosexuality should not be treated as if it is a disease. They can be completely normal people too.

Homosexuals cannot become heterosexual. However, they can choose to change their actions, i.e., remaining celibate or having relations with the opposite sex , also known as living a lie.
People should be who they are, and be supported to do that.

Do you think heterosexuals could turn and be gay if they wanted to? I'm willing to bet most would say "NO". Guess what, its the same for gays... Being gay is not a choice. If it were why would people choose to be so discriminated against?

I think people can be both. Bisexual I mean. I also think to your question it's an inborn trait and there's nothing wrong with any of it.

Real homosexuals can't. However, most people who call themselves homosexual are not actually gay. They are perverts. Those people can easily change.

Well you can definatly pretend to be straight. but not change fully. if you are born gay then that is how you will die. you can however change your sexual preference, ie what sex you date.
