Trial and error is the only way unfortunatley. What is pefect for one person, is hell for another.
I tried everything myself, inc the coil whuch made the bleeding worse for me & it was removed after 5 months. The injection made me a psychotic demon so in the end I had endometrial ablation.
The lining of my womb has been removed - yeah no bleeding. Saying that, I do have the odd day of bleeding but no more periods as such. The success of this procedure depends on whether the whole of the lining is removed, or most of it. Mine took most of it & that is why there is some bleeding.
I do have a very slim chance of getting pregnant but it is something like 2%. If I did get pregnat it would be ectpoic because of the lack of cushioing from the lining, but it is the answer to my prayers (at 32years of age).

There are other methods of contraception which may suit you better. You could consider an IUS such as the Mirena coil. This is a small plastic T shaped device which is placed inside your womb. It is easy to insert and can probably be done at your doctors office. It may be slightly uncomfortable, but not painful, and you may have a bit of crampong afterwards, but that can be relieved by mild painkillers. The coil releases a small amount of progesterone into the womb every day, which alters the lining of the womb, making it unsuitable for implantation, and also altering the cervical mucus which makes it harder for the sperm to get through. Because it's in the womb, the hormone only has an effect there, you don't get the side effects you would get with a pill. It also reduces bleeding by up to 80% and many women find that they stop bleeding completely. Once in, the coil can stay in place for 5 years. It sounds like it might be the best method of contraception for you if you are intolerant of the pills.

Then try something different. You doctor should be able to tell you all the options, but an I.U.D. might be your best bet. the Mirena coil can be left in place for up to 5 years, doesn't cause weight gain or give you any other side effects

why dont you get a mirena coil?
Its very small & effective!
It was originally designed for women with heavy periods, to ease the blood loss. You can have it fitted and not have to worry about getting pregnant gor 5 to 7 years!
