how do i make skinny diagonal gray stripes on a background in psp7?

Create a new blank image.
Click on the Draw icon.
Now click on the Tools Palette and set up the line as required.
The colour of the line will be the Foreground solid colour.

Click and hold the mouse to start drawing your line. Drag to where you want the line to end.
You will be able to adjust this once it is done.
The Layer Palette is good for selecting the line.

Once you are happy with the one line just copy and paste as new layer to repeat. Then just drag into position.
