I heard somewhere "time" is just the movement of light. If you are able to travel faster then the speed of light, you can manipulate the future. Is this true?

time is not the movement of light.
it is only perceived that way because it's the fastest thing we know of.

If you traveled to a planet that is 4 lightyears away in only 3 years, time has still passed, and you are still older, you have simply managed to get to that planet faster than light waves were able to.

Einstein said you can't go faster or as fast as light. Until someone proves him wrong, lets assume he's right.

I mean--if time travel is achieveable, then at some point somebody will/does work it out and builds a time machine and succeeds in visiting the past. If ONE person can do it then others will learn and sonner or later the present is crawling with refugees from the future.

Since we don't have dozens/hundreds/millions of future travellers living amongst us we might assume that the physics is unworkable or completely impractical.

Where did you hear that time is the movement of light?Time is a parameter, it has no measurable limits. And certainly it cannot be represented in the form of light or any other physical force.
However light reflects off one time and it does not get destroyed. So where does it go?
i guess it keeps travelling. So,if we travel at the speed of light or even higher, we could possibly see snatches of the past.Like a movie screen.Properly modulated,of course. But since we cannot see the light reflecting off the future, since that reflection hasn't happened, we cannot travel into the future.
I like this version, "the only way to get there,is to get there".Don't concern yourself with god's doings, leave HIM alone.Man has tried to play god before, and it has cost him more than one man can possibly imagine.
Instead try to concern yourself about the time you have lost reading this $hit.

There are no theories that prove that this can happen even if one travels as fast as or faster than the speed of light... Even with the unknown knowledge of the black holes/white holes, etc, the travel into the future is still not proven... OF COURSE... in my opinion, one will NEVER be able to travel into the future.

yes, because every one you left behind will be moving faster than you so when you come you would have not aged as fast as they did.

People people this is a hypothetical question think outside the box not in it nothing is true until it is proven. So when we do achieve that possibility of traveling as fast or faster than light we wont know so just take a guess.

look in the past people didn't think we could go faster than the speed of sound until someone broke the sound barrier proving that we could go faster than sound.

If you could approach the speed of light you would experience relativistic effects, meaning that while you experienced what you thought was the normal passage of time, everything else at ordinary speeds has aged considerably faster relative to your velocity. There appears to be a cosmic speed limit which is the speed of light so I doubt if someone is going to exceed or reach it.

We are all travelling into the future. It just happens.

Travelling at speed relative to someone changes how fast you are travelling into the future relative to them. But it is not possible to travel faster than light.

Travelling into the past is the real challenge. It is also almost certianly not possible.

If you rich the speed of light, your body transformed in energy that means you have no mass ,so you do not exist since your DNA destroyed
