I downloaded ALL codecs Microsoft offeres. I even installed Media player 11. No other players will play this video clip either. One player said it couldn't recognize the file format. Others say I may not have the right codec. HELP PLEASE. Thank you.

First of I'd stay away form MS media player as a rule. (Crystal, Mplayer, VLC or Media Player Classic usually do the trick). Try downloading a codec pack like Codec Pack ALL IN ONE or Klite. To fid out waht codec a file is in you can open it in Media Player Classic ->File->Properties->Details

the last part of the file name will be the format used. example sexgirl.mpg. mpg being the format used, coolrides.wmv. wmv being the format. You might try downloading realplayer and quicktime. the latest real player can play just about any media file there is.

Download AVIcod109.exe. Right button click on any media file and it will give u all the info u need.

Alternatively in folder explorer go Tools_Folders Option_View and deselect Hide extensions in known file types. Back in explorer now all your media audio and video files show their extensions - wma, mp3, mpg, avi, rm, etc.
