Well, there's one team from Canada that has won the "World" Series. Honestly, I hate this, and I'm American. The "World" Series started in 1901 and though it was played in other countries had baseball, it wasn't like it was here, so I guess they just thought that winning a Major League Baseball championship would make them the champs of the world. Stupid and arrogant. I always call it the Major League Baseball Championship Series. I hate that it's call the "World" Series. I hope it can be changed some day.

Basically its tradition. The World Series started a long time before any other countries played baseball, let alone had their own leagues, so at that time it was truely the World Series, and they haven't bothered to change the name and probably never will since everyone knows it by that name now.

The "World" to the World Series has been around since at least 1903 when baseball was still ONLY played in the United States. It is interesting to note that the game and teams playing the World Series are inherently American but baseball players are from all over the WORLD today.........Hopefully this helps:

Let's not turn our pasttime into a geopolitcal argument, save that for wars and genocide.

Because players from all countries are on teams. The best players in the world play in the major leagues, so thats why it is the world series.

a million out of each and every 4 Christians interior the worldwide are Catholic. however the Catholic Church has replaced over the years, basically like the numbers have. some Catholic church homes are previous style, and a few are greater modern-day and lenient. it is why maximum folk brake off into Protestant church homes. As for the "no faith" human beings, some people who have self assurance in God decide for to no longer call it a "faith". have you ever heard the asserting "Jesus is my savior. no longer my faith." It extraordinarily a lot ability worship God the way the bible says to, no longer the way guy-made religious communities inform you to. As for the atheist, greater particularly everyone seems to be starting to be to be too clever, and thinking technology is the biggest to each thing.

There is the Toronto Blue Jays and there used to be the Montreal Expos, so MLB can say that is the "world." You have a good point. I hope the WBC can be a more frequent event and that will become a true World Series.

Because back then there weren't any other teams outside the US. You can come play if you like! Or at least come and sit in the stands and eat hot dogs and drink beer and watch the game with me.

Most likely to make it sound more prestigious. Remember, Toronto has won 2 of these ('92,'93) so Canada has claim to this championship too.

Because all the best players play in the U.S. When Europe is able to field a team that can beat an American high school, then maybe we will invite them (No Way)

Because the MLB is made up of players from all around the world. Teams may just be in the US (and Canada) but each roster is made up of players from all around the world. So that is how you get the name "World Sereis"
