It causes many harmful effects such as:
Global warming- Due to harmful gases, released by vehicles, and also causes air pollution.
Nuclear explosions- modern technology for explosions for underground mining, wars etc, causes problems to be faced by the nature.
Depletion of resources- due to improvment in the health facilites, ther is a constant growth in population, which leads to depletion of resources like forest, fuels, wildlife, and many more.

actually everything could be use in many ways, and science is not an exception.
for example Atomic bomb. we can use radioactive for health matters.
another example is Gun. we can use it to defend ourselves from beasts but we kill each other.
now it is a starting point. think about anything you want (like a knife, a car and its pollution,...) and see it in two different perspectives.
