Hmm...
I might not consider revenge, but what I probably would do is tell her to stay the hell out of my life - and possibly let her know exactly what I thought of her. It might not be revenge and I would not be anonymous about it. I'd be upfront.

BEFORE YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE MESSAGES YOU RECEIVED, MAKE PRETTY SURE THAT SHE REALLY WAS THE ONE WHO WROTE THEM. I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE ON THAT BECAUSE I FORGOT TO SIGN OUT AND PERHAPS THE PERSON WHO USED THE COMPUTER NEXT TO ME USED MY FRIENDSTER ACCOUNT. THAT PERSON SENT NASTY MESSAGES TO MY FRIENDS WHICH COULD HAVE RUINED OUR FRIENDSHIP. BUT AT LEAST, THEY BELIEVED ME WHEN I SAID THAT I COULD NOT SAY THOSE BAD WORDS AGAINST ANYBODY.
LET'S GET BACK TO YOUR FRIEND'S ATTITUDE OF AVOIDING YOU. THERE MAY BE REASONS FOR HER BEING LIKE THAT WHICH YOU SHOULD TRY TO KNOW FROM HER. HAVE A HEART-TO-HEART TALK WITH HER. IF SHE GRANTS YOU ONE, USE THAT TIME TO LET OUT YOUR FEELINGS OF DISMAY ABOUT THE MESSAGES AND HER AVOIDING YOU. BUT DO THAT IN STILL A FRIENDLY MANNER. DON'T OUTRIGHTLY TELL HER THAT YOU KNOW THAT THE MESSAGES CAME FROM HER BECAUSE YOU MIGHT BE WRONG AND THAT WOULD MAKE YOU UNPROFESSIONAL IN HER EYES. IF SHE COURAGEOUSLY ADMITS, HOWEVER, THAT SHE REALLY IS THE CULPRIT, ASH HER WHY. YOU MIGHT DISCOVER SOMETHING THAT YOU NEED TO EXPLAIN OR BE SORRY ABOUT.
WHAT IS BEST IS DON'T EVER THINK OF REVENGE. IT WOULD ONLY RUIN YOU AS A MATURED PERSON AND PERHAPS AS A TRUE FRIEND.
YOU MAY PRESERVE YOUR FRIENDSHIP WITH HER BY UNDERSTANDING HER AT THE END OF YOUR TALK WITH HER AND CONTINUING YOUR FRIENDSHIP WITH EACH OTHER IF YOU DESERVE HER TO BE YOUR TRUE FRIEND.
IF SHE CUTS OFF THE CHAIN OF FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN YOU, LET HER DO IT WITHOUT REGRETS ON YOUR PART. YOU DID NOT LOSE A TRUE FRIEND FOR A TRUE FRIEDSHIP CAN WITHSTAND THE TESTS OF TIME. JUST LIKE IN MARRIAGE, TRUE FRIENDS SHOULD SUPPORT EACH OTHER THROUGH THICK AND THIN. AND IT WILL LIVE ON UNTIL FOREVER.

If it was me I would confront them. I'm bold and what comes out of my mouth is how I feel. If that person doesn't like it oh well. It ain't my lost; it's hers for losing a good friend.

It sounds as if she is not being a true friend. Confront her but keep your cool. Remaining calm keeps you level headed and smart. If she gets angry and yells, it shows guilt and insecurity. True friends are loyal, not back stabbers.

No revenge, forget it and her, and move on with your life. She's behaving like a child!
