When I developed a social consciousness based on people's lives as being the most important factor, and not on their financial situation, and not on how much money can be made by a select few!!!

I realized I am a Liberal when I feel that people need help and they need to be encouraged to work and be a contributing part of society. That Medicare should be for all and not be based on cost. That guns should be respected and not just bought over the counter. That Capital punishment is lowering yourself to their (The criminals) level. That is why I am a Liberal. Its the name of the party like democrat is

My parents raised me as a democrat. However, when I grew up, I started thinking and became a Conservative.
The democrats do not have room for Conservatives, so I had to start voting for Republicans.

When I was walking in Central Park in New York City one day, and came across a person who had been beaten nearly to death and robbed. I blurted out ; "We have to find the person who did this and HELP him!
