Oh my god, I hate that! It's like seriously, do your job for god's sake, and be thankful people even come to your store so you can get paid for your shitty *** job. I mean, how hard is it to say Thank You? I usually end up saying "Thank you" or "Have a good day" more then they do! But, more than that, it's that NOBODY seems to have common courtesy anymore. It seems like the phrases "Excuse me" and "thank you" and "your welcome" don't even exist. I'm so sick of rudeness!

I really get upset when so manyrude clerks and cashiers don`tsay Thank You any more, Do you get upset too ?
Why aren`t store management telling their employees to be polite to their customers, and enforcing it, like they used to, nowadays I hear the customers saying thank you to the cashiers more than the cashiers to the customers, and I`m appalled, what about you from the consumers point of view?

Oh, yes, there are some pretty intensive training programs for retail and customer service. I worked in it for ten years. I think the rude people have probably dealt with 20 rude customers and just don't have the energy to be nice anymore. If a cashier doesn't say thank you to me, I don't think much of it. If they're a little on the rude side, I think hey, I've been there too.

No...it doesn't bother me. As long as they're not rude overall. I wouldn't care about saying thank you if I made $7 an hour at some crappy job with rude customers who complain about dumb stuff that you have no control over (like gas prices) and get rude with you like you were the cause of a price increase. I've been a cashier. I wasn't rude (usually) and said thank you merely out of habit. But it made me hate people in general more. Simply because some are extremely rude and treat you like you are trash.
Kinda like Jen...talking about sh*tty job..treating people with crappy jobs like trash.

"Thank you" is on the receipt! some would say.
For me, it's like this. When a company's employees act like they don't want my money, I start going elsewhere to spend it.
I've been to a few businesses where the employees gave me red carpet treatment. Believe me! I'll spend a few dollars more for that.
To me, it's a matter of good business sense.

A general proverb is to treat people the way you would like to be treated. What I find, though, is that what makes more sense is to treat people nicer than they sometimes treat you. That way we take the higher road. That way we are doing our little part to help make the world better for everyone. Stay nice. Stay happy.

I think people act like they're doing you a favor. They're getting paid to be there not you. You're giving them your business. Customer service has seriously gone downhill.
