I wanted to buy it off of iTunes, and I don't want some wannabe singing it. Is it the Elton John version? I couldn't tell from the 30-second samples.

It's definetely not Elton John....I'm trying to remember but i'm having a hard time. I know it's some random guy that had a one hit wonder, and then afterwards went off and herded sheep for the rest of his life....it was Norman Greenbaum.

Norman Greenbaum did it originally, I liked the Doctor and the Medics version from the 80s though.

Well I would have to say Norman Greenbaum which is who I hear all the time on Pennsylvaina's oldies station 94.5 all the time so there ya have it and I love that song by the way makes me think of my father.

thats norman greenbaum. they play that on the local classic rock station here. i'm personally sick of it. lol. its on everyday.
