They all celebrate in every sport at every level when someone scores, no matter what part of the game. In the pros for baseball they are not allowed to leave the dugout area unless they are on-deck. They still celebrate on the stairs of the dugout when someone does something good.

All teams should do this to congratulate the players who scored. It is just that high school and college have a few less games a year then a MLB team. Only about 100+ less. That would be way too many congratulations for a year.

They do it for television.
It's one of those stupid things that players do, kind of like the whole team touches hands with an NBA player everytime he takes the first of two (or three) free throws, whether he makes the shot or not. Some idiot point guard will shuffle on down from mid court to the foul line, touch hands with the shooter, then go back to midcourt. Yeah, you accomplished a lot buddy.
It's just an idiotic ritual. It accomplishes nothing, other than a little TV exposure.

Generally when teams do that its when a home run is hit. i know in high school ball they would come out cuz a homerun doesnt happen that often for high schoolers. the same thing with college ball, its an exciting thing when that happens, its mainly to show your support and team spirit.

baseball is like your sex life when you get the chance to score you celebrate cause you never know when it will come again. And you just hope you dont get any of that premature celebration when you score lol

They do this to show enthusiasm and they are so syked at the beginning of the game that if anything good happens they jump and shout. It is also be a way of showing the other team up, kinda pushing them down.

I play and i know why. In our tournament this last everytime we scored it either tied or gave us the lead. Oh and by the way, we scored 19 runs one game so i dont think that we do that becuz its our only run.
