the term "Blue Moon" means something that happens once in a very great while, something that is almost an amazing occurance that is so rare, it only happens once on a blue moon.
It is also a very great song.
The actual blue moon that everyone is saying happens once every half cycle happens a lot less than they make it sound. a blue moon is actually once in every two and a half to three years, sometimes a little more sometimes a little less. Once in a long while there are two new moons in a month, that is very rare though, and happens once in a "Blue Moon"

I cant believe they have a search engine on the question page, to define an answer, there are all kinds of blue moons ,i.e. blue moon vaccuums, cafe, toys ect. A blue moon is a full moon for each month, that 1 moon could be sad so he's called a blue moon. Love your questions Boffo

I don't know but it left me standing alone,
without a dream in my heart,
without a love of my own.
Sorry if I botched the lyrics, that is what I could remember. Thanks for the question.
