In Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Vader gets wounded and then shocked by Emperor Palpatine. He dies after Luke removes his helmet so Vader can get a last breath of fresh air.

He died in the REturn of The Jedi. Only he was no longer darth vader but ones agian skywalker.

yes, in the 6th movie (the third one ever made). He dies killing the Emperor and saving his son Luke. Yes, I know, I'm a nerd.
