No she should not tell him, If he can not handle the idea of just thinking about it what makes you think he will be able to handle what she tells him. Some times the truth is better left unsaid. Love is about forgiveness and understanding. Your friend must ask her self this, he would leave her for a mistake, then did he really love her in the first place. Love sees through all things and can handle hall things.

It's possible that her husband already knows about her infidelity. I believe that your friend should have a heart to heart talk with her ex-husband to explain why she cheated on him and to ask for forgiveness from him. At least, with that, even if her husband doesn't take her back, she has already repented what she did against their marriage. And she should do that sincerely. She should really show him that she hates having been unfaithful to him having known the fact that he is important in her life.
If her ex-husband still loves her, he might take her back and live under one roof again if he believes that she really is sorry for what she did.
Ask your friend to believe in her heart that with the help of God, their relationship may still be given a second chance to live and thrive the tests of time.
Advise your friend to act now for tomorrow may be too late if her ex-husband sets his eyes on another woman.

He has every right to accuse her of cheating. It's something you don't do when you're involved in a relationship, and it does not matter what religion you are. She would have to tell her husband or soon to be ex-husband the truth--he deserve to know the truth, even if it will hurt.

She should go to counseling and invite him along tell him she wants him to be with her in her new life as a christian. the counselor may help her
