its fuel injected. i stopped for gas, 2 miles down the road the truck stops. no warning, no lights, nothing. i figured it was water in the tank. i contacted a mechanic who told me to put the water remover stuff, tranni fluid, and a full tank of gas and it should run. i have done all that and it still wont start. another person said it could be plugged injectors and i would have to take it in to a shop. any ideas? anyone?

I agree, it could be a lot of things. You will have to find out if you have spark and fuel pressure. It is probably a coincidence that you just got fuel. You may have to have a reliable mechanic check it out. Usually cheaper to get it fixed by a pro, because most parts that can cause this problem are expensive, and non returnable if not needed.

In order for an engine to fire, you need air, fuel and a spark at the right time. I have a '98 and the fuel pump is in the tank. I would not be surprised if the problem turned out to be something entirely unrelated to the fuel system. I had an alternator go out on mine and it completely screwed up the computer.

When was your fuel filter replaced? Its often a cheap and simple part thats often neglected. Car repair places usually charge 45$/hour. Autozone or any car parts store will be able to help you. Try that first. Not sure why the transmission fluid advice was given, are your fluid levels ok?
