MADRID, Spain (Associated Press) - They rose up quickly to take up
Osama bin Laden's call for jihad, ruthless men in their 20s and 30s heralded as the next generation of global terror.

Two years later, 40 percent are dead, targets of a worldwide crackdown that claimed its biggest victory with the killing of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaida's front man in
Iraq.

While there are still recruits ready to take up al-Qaida's call to arms, analysts say the newcomers have fewer connections than the men they are replacing, less training and sparser resources.

"There are more people popping up than are being put away," said Magnus Ranstorp, a terrorism expert at the Swedish National Defense College. "But the question is whether the new ones have the fortitude to take up the mantle and carry the struggle forward. I don't see that they have."

I thought you might like a little background.

For those of you who think that Liberals love America and hated the terrorist attacks of 9/11 just go to democraticunderground.com and you can read what they really think in their own words.

Thanks, big guy. You have a point. However, not all liberals think this way. Many of my liberal friends were horrified at 9/11, and are glad that the terrorists are geeting what's coming to them, and support the war on terror as long as we have the moral upper hand. I find that the reaction of certain liberal citizens in California during 9/11 was interesting to say the least. Among the statements I heard at the Berkeley campus was things like, "They got what they deserved," "It is New York, it might as well be a different planet for all I care," "I didn't like the World Trade Center, it was a symbol of capitalist oppression and excess," and "Too bad they didn't get more of those pricks when they crashed. That would have really taught the US a lesson." Thank you for showing us your true colors, California!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I don't know who's worse: the Right-Wing nuts or the Left-Wing nuts. you are obviously the former, mate...let's get this straight, because I'm getting sick and f---ing tired of repeating myself. 'Kay: Al Qaeda are all CIA agents; Osama Bin Laden was contracted by the Global Elite to carry out the 9/11 attacks and then they backstabbed him; the 9/11 attacks happened so the Neo-Cons would have the perfect excuse to pass the Patriot Act in order to restrict the rights and freedoms of Americans. That way, they could carry out their illegal war for oil in Iraq with little protest, because there is so much surveillance in the States that they know who's protesting what. The Bush family and Halliburton stand to make more money off of America's human rights atrocities in the Middle East than anybody else, but oil will still rise to over $100 a barrel.
That, folks, is what "The War On Terror" is all about. The US supported Al Qaeda, The Taliban and OBL back when they were all fighting the Soviets in the eighties. 9/11 was where the CIA called in their markers; they probably told Osama they'd pull out of the middle east and then lied to him, just like they've been lying to the American people for decades. It's only now that people are finally starting to wake up to the fact that the government wants to turn the country into a police state, except it might be TOO LATE!!!!!
So, for all these freaks and their bitching about "the liberals" or "the democrats", I might remind you that there is NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER between democrats and republicans. George W Bush ran against John Kerry in the 2004 election; they are cousins, and both of them had the exact same backgrounds AND agendas. When Right-Wing nuts start bitching about the Left-Wingers, it's only because they are afraid: "Jesus Christ, what if the left wingers are RIGHT?! IS the government really lying to me?!" They are in denial.

Well...i am not a liberal, and i dont hate america, so i am probably not the one that should be responding to your question. I am sure the libs are quickly trying to make up excuses to feed their hatred even more against Bush and the war in Iraq. I've heard some of them already. Some are saying Bin Ladin is happy Zarqawi is dead because he had become a liability to Al Queda. Yeah right. Others dodge the issue and point to the alleged marine massacre. Seems they already have our marines tried and convicted before the initial investigation is over. I didn't hear of a single democrat that congratulated Bush or the administration for a job well done for killing Zarqawi, but I heard cries saying its time to pull out.

No, the liberals wont acknowledge any progress in the war on terror, or the war in iraq. You can show them any fact and they will ignore it and tell you some lame accusation they can never back up with facts. Same old tired sh i t. I've come to expect it and would be surprised to hear anything reasonable to come out of their empty minds. I am thankful that liberal democrats have lost congress and the white house. A party without ideas does not deserve a leadership role.

Silly boy. You still think this war is about terror.

Ahhhh to be young and naive again.

EDIT: Just so you know, democratsunderground.com is not the official website for the Democratic party. It could very well be run by a fringe group of people who call themselves democrats but have no idea what the party actually stands for. Or for that matter, it could also be funded by the Republicans so that they can link to it and say I told you so. In other words, don't believe everything you see on the internet. If you want to know the real DNC platform, go to the horses mouth..... http://www.dnc.org/

What are you talking about? Why are you trying to divide Americans? I am a loyal American and a Democrat. I was horrified on 9-11 and am happy to see the guilty ones get punished. Why do you assume otherwise? I do not know of a single liberal who does not want to see terrorists punished. You are sadly misinformed. By the way, I have a son in Iraq.

I can't tell if you think this is good or not?

Only 40% for Almost a Trillion Dollar war? Thats good?

Shouldn't it be more towards 75% by now. I think the US gets an "F" on this one. And Zarqawi has been built up by the US because they can't find Bin Laden anywhere....

C'mon garlic and wine, do you really believe that truth means anything to liberals? They want us to lose this war on terror because when we win they will have been wrong all along since they have been against our need to have this war on terror.

They love Saddam, he was running a mecca of peace.

By the way, doesn't porkchopsjar remind you of that paranoid character Dale Gribb;e on "King of the Hill"? What a frikkin nut!

how does it feel to know that that 100% of dead terrorists have succesors?; how does it feel to know many inoccent lives have been taking during this absurd war.... and that lots children whose relatives were taking from, now hate the occidental world and are new potential terrorist??

and how does it feel to know this war has nothing to do with terrorism?? it's all about oil, sweetheart! I really doubt you guys will take out your troops even when you kill the whole al-quaida gang and osama bin laden... bush wants only the oil; when he gets to get it for him and his texan buddies, we'll see on cnn how they torture and kill any random guy claiming he was even above bin laden in al-quaida and you're done now, not before planting the american flag in iraq's soil, of course.

Something called 'democratic underground' is so very obviously not written by mainstream democrats. Also, liberal does not equal democrat. You're a f***ing idiot.
