Would Communism and Liberalism meaning "left wing" political structures i.e. socialism function under a single government or would it lead to difficulty? Is there a way for Communists and Socialists to somehow band together and possibly operate a single unified government by rotating from the Communist Party to the Socialist or Democratic parties every four years or so? Sorry for the unusual question...It was a thought that has been plauging my mind for sometime.

I always thought they were already buddies. Socialism and communism go hand in hand. The "odd" one out is conservatism. Socialism as far as I can see is only good for team sports. It has never worked for very long as a ruling force as a government. No government should run a country. The country should run the government. I wish here in the U.S. all politicians worked in Washington for 6 months then had to go home and have a "real" job for 6 months. We would be able to handle poverty, care for our senior citizens and run our education system a lot better than a bunch of stuffed shirt fat a$$ ed hair sprayed ego maniacs who never see or care what really needs to be done. But we have created a monster here and we need to wake up and make some changes or further suffer the consequences of an ever growing government that can only grow by taking more and more of our freedom away.

There is no such thing as socialist or communist government, when soviet union collasped it took only a few minutes for the staunchest communist to become stanchest capitalist.same is now with china. The politician will become any thing to be in power.I think the salvation lies in democracy provided all the voters are enlightned and if they chose realy the best person who is secular, free from religon, free from hate and a true nationlist who cannot be bought with any money on the earth.

Communism is not a form of government - it's an economic system. Socialism is a form of government and economy that is based on the Marxist ideals that inform communism.

All of them are a form of big government. The bureaucrats get big paychecks. There is no incentive for the little guy to try to better himself and his family. The populist has a lower standard of living. Why do you want to live a lower standard of living than you presently do?
