Educate the people to understand what the monuments are, and why they should be preserved.

Get the government to spend more money on protecting and renovating them. They are a part of our rich history and cant be left unattended to decay with time. Moroever, tourists and visitors shall be given strict guidelines on how to be in these places (many I know scrap their names on these historical monuments with their car keys!)

you know that Indian government is fully corrupted.Indian literacy is very low so that they dont know its importance.This is the reason why the monuments have been spoiled. so the answer for your question,you have to find out.
