The kids on this site will say ,"WHAAAAAAATTTTTT ??! You have to be "over the age of nothing" to even understand the question, let alone answer it. Come on, fellow non-teens ( to say the least!) I listed this in this particular category to try and find older people who may just know what I am talking about.

I remember hearing the word "Hootenanny" but I can't remember anything about it; but I think it meant a GET-to-gether of Country Music or bluegrass music ? Best wishes!

As an Englishman with a Scottish mother I'd say I don't "remember" it, but it's a musical event, usually associated with the New Year's celebrations.

yes. Every year we had one in our area just about now it would get organized. Local bands would play for local singers, gave everyone a good time to mix and match. Different groups would sell refreshments and home baked goodies. And there was always a raffle. :)
