A lot of people who criticize Islam and Muslims know next to nothing about both.
A lot of people out there are brain washed by the Jews who have tremendous hold over the media - electronic and print - in the US.
Islam is a very tolerant religion and majority of the Muslims are peace loving people.
If a Muslim happens to behind an act of terrorism, it is labelled Islamic terrorism. But when a Christian or Hindu is committing terrorism, it is NOT called Christian Terrorism or Hindu Terrorism. It is simply terrorism.
The Muslims in Palestine have been subject innumerable suffering. They are displaced and their homes destroyed. Muslims were not responsible for Holocaust. Why weren't the victims of holocaust settled in Europe. Why was a state carved out of Palestine for settling them.
When a Palestinian suicide bomber strikes in Israel, the State of Israel commits agression on hte innocent people of Palestine by aerial striking destroying their homes. This a state sponsored terrorism.

Mr Menifeedave, I do not live in the USA. Please note I am against all violence, whether it is in the name of Isalam, or Christianity or Judaism.
I have been wondering whether it is not the West that is the best motivator to turn a Muslim into terrorist through their blind support to Isarael and their stance against Muslim nations.

I agree that it "Islamic Terrorism" is a misnomer since the terrorists are motivated on the basis of political considerations rather than purely religious ones. Also, you are right to point out that when Christians commit hate crimes, they are not labeled "Christian Terrorists" but instead are looked upon as a single freak outlaw or as political activists. I also agree that Americans are largely ignorant of the beliefs and practices of the average Muslim and are therefore very easily convinced that Islam is a violent religion when the truth is that all the monotheistic religions are capable of inciting violence in their believers. However, I think you are wrong to blame this on the so-called brain-washing of "Jews who have tremendous hold over the mdeia - electronic and print - in the U.S." This comment shows that you are just as prone to believe in stereotypes, thereby misinterpreting and overstating the influence of Jews, as Americans, or for that matter, the people of any other nation are.
A closed-minded xenophobe is a closed-minded xenophobe, and politically-motivated paranoia is politically-motivated paranoia. Your efforts to shift the blame wrongly placed on the Muslims to the Jews is transparent and unfair. No nation, no religion, no people has a monopoly on innocence and goodness, nor on evil and self-serving hypocrisy, for that matter.

Unfortunately for the adherents of Islam who are peaceful, the terrorists themselves proclaim that what they are doing is Islam.
Islamic Jihad, Al-Aksa Martyr's Brigade, Jihad this and Jihad that. Whether or not you feel they are truly representing Islam, they kill people in the name of Islam. They kill people who have done them and Islam no harm.
If you want non-Muslims to differentiate between your peaceful friends and the terrorists, you have to be louder than they are, and you and the other peaceful Muslims have to stop the ones who have hijacked your religion.
However, the fact that you included a diatribe against Israel in your posting shows that you still mis-understand non-Muslims.
Muslims tie themselves up into knots to "explain" why suicide bombers killing Jordanians are terrorists, which suicide bombers killing Israelis are not. Non-Muslims see this as hypocrisy.

When the mass islamic population begins to be outspoken against their terroristic brothers and sisters, the world may see islam in a different light. NOT ONE TIME has there been a massive public outcry from islamists against the actions of the "minority few" muslims who perpetrate terror. The mujahadeen are viewing zarqawi as a martyr!!!

Amen... Very legitimate argument, but I am sure there are narrow minded people here that will not be able to comprehend what you're saying because their minds are one-way-headed. At least I hope some will try and think about what you're saying.
