I assume you have mollies or something like that? and I assume you're going to use an off the shelf ick cure in a bottle? If you read the bottle and remove the carbon filter before adding the medicine it should take no more than 5-7 days.. ick is stress related generally so try to remove the stress.. ie bad water quality (take a sample of the water to Petco or Petsmart and have the sample tested for free), aggressive tank mates, overcrowding of tank etc...

Good Luck

A couple of days. First get rid of the problem that causing the fish stress. Either you have poor water quality or you have another fish hounding the sick one. If all the fish have Ick, then you have a water quality problem. If the tank was "cleaned" recently then you have new tank syndrome. Read the link below. If you changed the water recently then it could be Chlorine, add anti chlorine medication to the tank.. Ammolock or Amquel should do. Ick usually goes away on its own if the conditions improve.

usually 7 days the eggs( which you can see on fish) hatch out in cycles, the adults ( you cant see) are free swimming in water. Most medications kill off the adults so treatment for the full 7 days is to catch the hatching eggs as they cycle. In some really bad cases it may causee extra time in treatment, but what ever you do dont treat for like 3 days and quit cause you dont see any more "spots", this will only mean they have hatched, not that the they have been killed. Also you will always have some Ick parasites in your tank, this is normal and there are micro organisms, bacteria and parasites in all tanks.

It depends on the half-life of the actual ick itself. Some ick may take days, others weeks. Good luck.

It depends on how many fish, how bad the ick is, etc.
I would say approx. 5 days. That's with medication.
Don't worry, you'll get rid of it and your fish will be okay!
