From this year ... Hostile was good a little lacking in suspense but lots of gore .
My all time favorite scary movie is House of a Thousands Corpses , followed by , 28 Days Later , Sleepy Hollow , anything by Stephen King and then any Leprechaun or Child's Play movie .

The Grudge. Even at the parts where you just know that something scary is about to happen, you still end up jumping in your seat.
The Amityville Horror is so scary that I've never been able to watch it all the way through.
Hide and Seek is good, but more mystery/suspense than scary.
