sounds like carpal tunnel.
What is carpal tunnel syndrome?

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a specific group of symptoms that can include tingling, numbness, weakness, or pain in the fingers, thumb, hand, and occasionally in the arm. These symptoms occur when there is pressure on the median nerve within the wrist.

The carpal tunnel is a small space or "tunnel" in the wrist formed by the wrist bones (carpal bones) and a ligament (transverse carpal ligament). The median nerve and several tendons pass through the carpal tunnel from the forearm to the hand. The tendons are surrounded by tubes of tissue (tendon sheaths). The median nerve controls some movements of the thumb, and this nerve supplies feeling to most of the thumb and to the index finger, middle finger, and part of the ring finger.

It is not carpal tunnel syndrome, that is due to impingiment of the median nerve. The pinky and ring fingers are given sensation by the ulnar nerve, the nerve that passes along the medial side of the elbow that causes the sensation known as funny bone. Try changing the position you hold your left arm when you are at your desk, the ulnar nerve is obviously being pinched in your present position.

Could be pinched nerves in the wrist, elbow or neck.

Could be emotional tension.

Could be high blood pressure or arthritis.

Does the numbnes go away if you wash your left hand with hot water? That would indicate a nerve or circulation problem.

In summary: see a doctor to find out.

You may have nerve damage and originate in the shoulder. It could also be restricted circulation, or, even, symptomatic of a heart problem. In any case, you should see either a chiropractor, an ostepath, or a medical doctor.

I think you should go see a nerologest. It's not normal for any part of your body to go numb.
