if you used it, then no one would be impressed b/c it was common sense.
if you didnt use it, everyone would be impressed b/c it was common sense.
no big deal if you use it and WAYYYYY big deal if you dont.
its a man-made measure to feel equal (validated) or smug.
pay no attention to it, it doesnt truly exist

LOL...then don't think of common sense as ordinary good sense or judgment.....make believe it is common fractions of something else, then maybe it will make more sense to you, using a numerator and a denominator (metaphorically) to work it out.
So, there is really nothing common about commonsense, it is all about your own reality and how you crunch your own conclusions.
PS....there is no commonsense to what I just wrote!

common sense: ordinary good conscious, awareness or understanding of something, arrived at though taking in account recent events and thoughts of others involved, used for the greater good of all involved.
IE:
don't stick hair pins in the electrical socket
don't put your hand in the sink disposal
put your pants on before you leave the house
take your keys out of the door after you unlock it
have your keys in your hand as you lock it
don't mess with your friend's lovers or your lover's friends

simple every day pearls of wisdom passed down to us from the generations before that quite a few people have no real clue about. simply stated, the mainstream of the intelligent and educated world take this for granted because it's so ingrained in their personalities. the rest stumble around at noon with a flashlight

Let's not confuse god sense with common sense.

Particularly in this days, when media is quite common, but has no sense.

Good sense is an intuitive functional knowledge.

Common sense is the collective sense, which can be good or bad.

...Depending on what our media moguls want from us.

If you have to ask... No, used to be there were people who had the animal sense of survival to do the things that were needed to provide food, shelter and protection for themselves and their families so that they could all survive to see another day. Nowdays in this world of super malls, Starbucks and virtual reality a lot of people are walking around with NO survival skills at all.

I can't remember who defined philosophy simply as 'an uncommon amount of common sense'.

However you define philosophy or common sense, its sadly apparent that common sense is sorely lacking.

you know what? Absolutely nothing!

---- > you say tomato i say TOMARTO.

eh.

You eat sakatas
I eat rice crispies.

Eh.

I'm a chick i like wearing chick's underwear.
That guy across the street...likes to wear women's underwear too.

So. Common sense...well. Don't make sense.
