Ok... I am transgender FTM, and I've came out once, and got some bad marks... I've had to come back in and try to dress and act female, but I'm in a conflict in my mind, as the people who I live with are homophobic (brother-in-law) and I don't want to move back into my parents house, as I want to be independent to a degree... I'm getting mixed messages in my head, and feeling pretty down because of that! :*( I've never been really accepted for being transgender, and I've been dressing and acting like this since I was 3! I'm lost... I'm lucky to have a friend or two who lives within 5 miles of me...

You won't be able to feel free to be yourself until you can live on your own and away from those that would oppress you. I don't know where you live, but you need to find a community that can relate to you. If you're a student, some schools have these types of groups too. If there are no transgender groups in your area, you may be able to find one online. For example, the forum at www.crossdressers.com has an FtM section. Also, as someone already mentioned, having a gender therapist is the best you can do right now. I hope you can find one in your area. Good luck.

Although you are feeling some conflict in your head, you must remain true to who you are. It may be that old acceptance thing, people hate when their lives are disrupted and they can't understand why. Your change is effecting them and the mixed messages you are receiving is real.

Support is key here, and it would be good to search out some type of group, to vent your feelings and gain confidence through shared group interaction.

If you had cancer you would surely get help...so, seek more help!
Counseling and visits with a qualified psychologist on gender issues will help in achieving your goals and start to aid in your full transition. Transgendered people have been fighting this same battle as you since the beginnings of existence. To be true to your self arm yourself with confidence and screw the nah-sayers around you.
