How can you seriously compare two bands that are so different? I mean, as far as "better" goes the obvious answer would be CSNY (they didn't call them "The American Beatles" for nothing!) but I prefer CSN without Neil Young, because Neil Young is totally the odd man out in that group. He's much better on his own, which is why he only gives CSNY half a--ed filler material.
But the facts are irrelevant, really. Somebody earlier asked a question of "Who's better: Beatles or Oasis?" and there's no comparison. Same thing here. I mean, love 'em or hate 'em, CSN/CSNY will go down as one of the most successful bands in history. Their first two albums are revered classics. Can you honestly say the same about the Goo Goo Dolls? They're ok at what they do, sure, but the comparison is like apples and oranges. Except I don't think the Goo Goo Dolls have fried their brains with cocaine like CSN did! They called those guys "The Frozen Noses" for a REASON...

well, i am someone who likes a lot of music and respects all as a fealing of expression. However, I most absolutely 100% have to say Goo Goo Dolls. Not only does their sound make an appealing combination of chords and harmony that match music therapy research that make people feel very close to the intended purpose of the composer, but what they sing about is just simply well intended, thought out and inspirational. I grew up in Kentucky and therefore understand the importance of country music but I simply can't listen to most of it. There are only a few groups that I can listen to and not get bored or sick of. No offense to anyone.

huh? Whats the comparison.........wait there is none! Goo Goo Dolls for sure. Mind you Crosby Stills Nash & Young where great for that time with those unforgetable harmonies but Goo Goo Dolls for this day and age kicks butt. But i still cant see the comparison........?

thats not a fair comparison, they're total differnet genre's and style's. id say crosby, stills, and nash without young, i cant stand hearing his nasally, whiney voice. "a southern man dont need him around anyhow!"
