For example, a new policy proposal suggests the President be monitored by Federal Judges to be sure he does not violate the law, the way President Nixon did and President Bush is now doing violagting FISA and spying on Americans on American soil. I enjoy debating new ideas, however, not many other people seem to care. I think the majority of people have been dumbed down by the media, so the political class can maintain its monopoly on political power. What do you think? Because we,re mostly knee jerk responders who don't take the time to think about what we're saying. We just pick a side and go with whatever.

Due to the separation of the 3 branches of the government - guaranteed by the Constitution, it is guaranteed that whether 1 or 10000 or the Supreme Court - the judges have no right to oversee the President ( the Executive Branch ) doing his job. If they have a problem Congress, the Legislative Branch, can investigate & try to impeach President. If that occurs, then the Judical Branch or judges can charge the President. I paid attention in Civics Classes, did you?

We've allowed the law makers to put unrelated items into bills for so long that each joker during the campain season pulls up sections of those bills to say they are great & the other is a fool. As long as one & only one idea per bill isn't the requirement our "leaders" have no accountability. Granted there will still be vote buying, but now it will be in the open.

Besides voter apathy do to no accountability, my grandmother always said you don't discuss religon or politics it is too personal.

Answer: The population of this planet has been overwhelmed. Comment: The U.S. Constitution already has the provision for the monitoring of the President, it's called impeachment. Formal charges! We don't need NEW laws. We already have a labrynthine legal system. LET'S JUST ENFORCE THE LAWS ALREADY WRITTEN.

I think you are right. They are taking a piece of freedom at a time and when people finally awake the US will have no Bill of Rights.

What even makes it worse for me is the other side.
everytime someone does something stupid, they have to pass a law. There are so many damn laws on the book that no one could possibly know them all AND in many cases they conflict with each other.

In my state there is no such thing as an accident. Someone dies in a car, it's negligent homicide!

Because Americas society is only about reality tv and botox. its a shame to see this happening. but even if you look at kids growing up now, half the teenagers dont even know the president right now. no one is bothering to teach them to care about their country.

We all debate political issues, but most of these "debates" are very informal discussions we have with casual acquaintences.

many are uninformed and do not wish to be informed. I have many friends who destest politics, and don't even vote -- I tell them they shouldn't complain about those in office if they do not take the time to inform themselves and vote for candidates to fill those offices.
