yahoo answers is a huge site. thousands of people visit the site and any new questions are posted on the front page with maximum exposure. questions that require simple answers or that can extract a multitude of responses from laymen will get quick responses. harder questions may take a bit longer as the answerer will need to do research and stuff like that.

Well, lets see. Probably because you got a bnch of people who are absolutly addicted to this site cruising through cyber space looking for questions to answer to get them two more points...Probably like 100 thousand ppl. Pathetic, ain't it.
