Well, you have three choices, none of them good.

1. Remove your adrenal gland. I wouldn't recommend this and I doubt there's a doctor on earth that would do it.

2. Narcotics. Enough depressants, narcotics or hypnotics would make you so sleepy that you probably wouldn't even know you were on a roller coaster. And, as such, you wouldn't produce adrenaline out of fear. Of course, that much morphine would probably ruin the rest of your day. Or make it great, depending on your idea of what a good day consists of.

3. Beta blockers. Beta blockers like Tenormin or Toprol actually block the cell receptors that recognize adrenaline. This will keep your heart from racing while on a roller coaster. Except that, for a healthy person, the amount of beta blockers you'd need to ride the roller coaster would probably kill you as soon as you got off the roller coaster.

4. There is no 4. There is no safe way to block adrenaline so that you can enjoy a roller coaster without your heart racing.

To make the ride less panicky, look to where you are going -- keep your focus on the track ahead and it will prepare your body to respond to what happens next.

Our bodies use our eyes, inner ears and musculoskeletal feedback to provide us with information about motion, balance, orientation in space, and so on. Our eyes give the strongest information because they engage the cognitive aspects that allow us to have that anticipation. The ride's a lot more fun when you know where you're going!

If you are prone to motion sickness, than consider avoiding the torture of such rides, or maybe take an over-the-counter motion sickness/seasickness remedy.
