I'm afraid that you must be corrected. It wasn't an apple. It was a fruit from the 'tree of knowledge'. And, this story was intended to be taken metaphorically and not literally. They were banned from the Garden of Eden because they refused a directive not to satisfy their natural curiosity. The temptation to learn about themselves and their creators was too much for them to leave alone. When they broke this rule and surreptitiously entered the creator's library (tree of knowledge) and gained the knowledge about how life is created, they were banned as punishment.
Genesis 3:5 explains it well in literary form: "Consuming the fruit (knowledge) from 'the tree of life' will open their eyes and make them as 'God' knowing good and evil (life and death)."
This is how this passage was meant to be interpreted.

They are not blaming the apple silly they are blaming the desires of Eve and Adam...And that darned snake! LOL

an apple is not being blamed.in fact,it doesnt even say it was an apple.beside,the serpent/satan is blamed,and adam and eve for disoeying god
