My husband had the same problem and we are both in our 30s! He went to our family doctor and she prescribed to him "sodium sulfacetamide." I guess it kills the bacteria in the pimple. It comes in a bottle, it's cream, and he rubs it on his back. Well, it cleared up right away and he still uses it for maintenance. Also, his doctor told him to purchase "pan oxyl" soap from the drugstore. You can get it at Eckerd. I use it on my face, and I never get breakouts anymore. You wash your face with Pan Oxyl and let the soap suds sit on your face for about 30-60 seconds and then wash off. You only need to use it once a day. It is pretty strong. If your skin can take it, you can use it twice a day. My husband uses Pan Oxyl on his back along with the sodium sulfacetamide and he has not had any breakouts since. I hope this helps.

I had really bad acne on my face when I was young. I went to a dematologist who gave me a drug called "Acutane." Acutane is available by prescription from a dermatologist. Even though I did not have Body Acne he told me that it was proven to cure severe body Acne and showed me before and after pictures of those people who had the problem. Acutane did work for me, but it dries out your skin. Also on Acutane, you need a monthly blood test to check your hormone levels. My facial acne had begun to leave pitts and scars in some parts of my face. The doctor told me acne is because of hormone im- balances in adolescents. He said if he injected me with enough female hormone to balance it out I would grow breasts so that was not an option. He told me that acne is NOT caused by skin oil or dryness of skin.

My acne was 20 years ago. They probably have better medicines available now. Call your dermatologist. Good luck.

please don't waste ur money trying tons of shelf products..God knows i have.....they will do u no good. These products will help ur skin stay clean but will not clear up the bacteria build up in your skin.

Go to the doctor.....if u or ur parents have insurance...it won't be very expensive. If ur acne is moderate to severe...they might prescribe doxycycline..its an antibiotic and used to kill bacteria in the body. Yes it does work....i have used it..and am using it now. I haven't had a painful breakout in a month...touchwood.

I also have lots of dark marks and on my body...and i am dark skinned so its even worse because of the darker pigment in my skin. I only dream of wearing tank tops and halters....sigh...'coz my skin looks really bad. I guess the point is....make sure u take care of the ACNE before trying to fade any marks u might have.

Good Luck.

use an acne body wash or johnson's baby shampoo to wash your shoulders and back. do not put lotion on your back. it's not as dry as other parts of the body and you don't need the extra oil. buy a body bronzing powder for those bare-back summer dresses. it will help disguise the marks and add some shimmer to diffuse light and give your skin a sun-kissed glow.

Um...have you gone to a dermatologist? Body acne is hard to deal with. My friend has the same problem but she went to a dermatologist and she was given some medicine and her back is clearing up....

It's called Acne, not acnes...the outbreaks are called pimples.
The best thing my son has found, and I like it too is Neutrogena's Rapid Clear interchanged with Neutrogena's Body Scrub.

My girlfriend had this because of birth control.Apparently it is a hormone thing.Go to a dermatologist and see what he or she thinks.Your probably young so it will not last forever.Hers took about a year to clear up.It will be Ok.If your on birth control, maybe you need to change your prescription.Hang in there.

Oh I have that same problem!!! It has cleared up a lot now but it was awful when I was younger, and especially when I was pregnant. I used to use aloe vera gel on it...I remember that helping some!

Try a little sun. If that doesn't help, maybe a dermatologist would have some suggestions.
